Patty Midy

I am an experiential and global visual merchandising leader focused on translating brand storytelling into physical retail environments and consumer experiences.

My background in the built environment began at Arup, where I worked across acoustic, spatial, and immersive design technologies used to shape performance venues and cultural spaces. Through participation in Arup’s Digital Innovations initiatives, I worked with advanced tools including the SoundLab — a virtual reality and spatial audio environment used to model how spaces perform acoustically and experientially — as well as MassMotion, a crowd simulation platform used to study movement through complex built environments. Working within this architectural and engineering context shaped my approach to spatial design as both a creative process grounded in real-world behavior and opportunity to integrate experimental and immersive design technologies.

Since then, I’ve specialized in beauty and lifestyle retail, designing campaign launches, in-store environments, visual merchandising systems, and brand activations for companies including Fresh (LVMH) and Sol de Janeiro. My work focuses on developing concepts that translate successfully from concept to design into fabrication, rollout, and installation across global markets. My approach to design is grounded in collaboration across disciplines, working closely with creative teams, production partners, fabricators, and marketing stakeholders to bring brands to life. I focus on aligning creative vision with technical feasibility, ensuring environments not only look compelling but function successfully within real production timelines and operational constraints.

I am a proud first-generation Haitian-American and UC Berkeley Grad (Go Bears!). I am fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole. Outside of work, I can usually found painting in oil or watercolor, knitting or out in my backyard gardening!
